Meet Mark O’Bryan — Collin County Criminal Defense Attorney

I was born and raised in Texas. My family has lived in Plano since 1993, and I graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2000. From there, I went to the University of Texas at Dallas and earned my B.A. in Criminal Justice.

I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2011 and passed the Bar Exam that November. During law school, I was named to the Dean’s List and completed two internships with the Collin County District Attorney’s Office — which gave me an inside look at how the State actually builds cases.

After the Bar, I started my career at a small firm handling both criminal and civil matters across Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. That’s where I learned what actually matters in court — being prepared, being persistent, and being willing to push back hard when the State pushes too hard.

Focused on Criminal Defense. Focused on You.

I exclusively defend people charged with crimes in Collin County and the surrounding counties — everything from traffic tickets to first-degree felonies.

I’m licensed to practice in Texas state courts and in the Federal District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Every month, I spend serious time reading the latest case law and rule changes. Texas criminal law shifts more than people realize, and the attorney who isn’t keeping up is the attorney whose client gets caught flat-footed.

Here’s what I believe: the State has unlimited resources and time. You need someone in your corner who’ll match that fight — and tell you the truth about your case, even when it’s not what you want to hear.

Even when someone already knows they’re guilty, having representation still matters — I wrote about why that’s almost always true.
